The Tango Studio in Amman, Jordan, has been my tango alma mater since I started learning to dance tango in 2010 (after a number of introductory lessons with Salida Dance Studio, also in Amman). The Tango Studio has been more than a dance school.
Founded by Mohammad Ismail and Dareen Khoury, the Studio been offering tango group and private classes of the highest quality, whilst providing a warm and inclusive welcome to the tango community in Jordan as well as regular guest maestros and other visitors, including through its weekly practica and milonga and regular tango trips. In 2010, The Tango Studio organized a first, highly successful, International Tango Festival in Jordan with milonga's in Amman, the Dead Sea, Jerash and Wadi Rum.
